About me
I’m an integrative relational counsellor and psychotherapist based in North East London. I work indoors, outdoors and, where appropriate, on the phone or online.
I have a Masters in Integrative Psychotherapy from The Minster Centre, the UK’s leading institute for integrative counselling and psychotherapy. I’m a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and I’m guided by their ethical framework.
What I bring to therapy
As a therapist, I’m gentle and thoughtful. I allow plenty of space for all of you, with compassionate challenge where appropriate. I believe in the power of serious playfulness - holding important things lightly and seeing how we can experiment with them together to find something new. I also swear pretty often.
I am passionate about recognising and valuing diverse experiences of all kinds, and I'm committed to an ongoing examination of my own assumptions and biases so that these do not get in the way of our work together. I’m interested in both the meaning of individual experience, and the broader social, economic and political factors that shape our lives, including class discrimination, racialisation, ableism, misogyny, mono- and heteronormativity, homophobia, and transphobia.
I have over ten years’ experience in research, advocacy, and social justice in the UK and Australia. As a migrant myself, I have a long-standing interest in migration, displacement, and belonging.
I have a PhD in climate change and international law, and I worked for 8 years alongside people in immigration detention in the UK. Alongside other life experiences, this means I’ve got to know people from all walks of life who are struggling with a range of issues, including anxiety, trauma, displacement, loss, bereavement, fertility issues, hearing voices, self-harm, despair, perfectionism, and more.
